My key strength is to explain complex concepts of Physics and Maths in simple and clear terms.
I have been a lecturer of Maths and Physics for first year engineering students during my PhD, and have been tutoring privately for over 15 years.
Since graduation I have continued tutoring privately and have worked with several educational institutions such as INTO Manchester, PMT, Delta Tutors London, and have begun an educational startup www.Educate-UK.net; teaching Maths and Physics for GCSE, IGCSE, AS and A-Levels, and the Scottish equivalents NAT4, 5, Higher and Advanced Higher. I have taught both subjects for major UK exam boards: AQA, Edexcel, OCR; and International Baccalaureate Organisation (IB).
I enjoy teaching and deeply care about the two subjects. I believe all students can enjoy these subjects, given the right guidance.
Please note: For AQA A-Level Physics optional sections I teach the Engineering Physics, Astrophysics, and Turning Points.
For major exam boards: I teach A-Level maths, mechanics, and statistics but not further maths.

Tutoring Experience:
4 years teaching Maths and Physics at Manchester University foundation year; helping first year engineering students to revise what they have studied in their A-Level and prepare them to study further Maths and physics for their engineering course;
4 Years at Abbey College Manchester;
5 years at Delta Tutors London as Physics and Maths tutor;
Over 15 years tutoring privately.

Teaching Approach:
I think majority of the students find Maths and Physics difficult because at some point at school, they have missed the most important and fundamental concepts. These subjects may seem hard because concepts are built on top of each other and if the student lacks an understanding of a fundamental concept, this will create a barrier to any further learning.
I will invest time to assess students' understanding of these fundamental concepts and revisit them if necessary.
For solving problems, I ask questions step by step rather than just "lecturing" the students. I find this method more engaging and more helpful to the students because they feel they are the one solving the problem. This will give them the confidence they need and they will remember the material for longer as they are engaged to find solutions. I also find this method extremely useful while working online. As it can compensate for physical presence in the same room with the students by keeping them constantly engaged in the conversation.
I design questions similar to past papers, this helps to make sure the work students do is original and they have put their own thought into the homework.
Before our first lesson, I'd like to have a chat over the phone with the student or parents/guardians to discuss the student's specific needs and to devise a plan accordingly. Hopefully we can keep in touch during the year to discuss the improvements and the feedback students get from their school. This ideally can happen once a month. Getting good grades requires a good amount of work and this can be achieved with everyone being engaged.
I ask my students to solve questions during the lesson. For this, I use an online whiteboard, so it would be better if you have a digital pen to be able to write there as well. iPad pen or any digital drawing board can do the job.
Prior to launching this website I was on FirstTutor.com for about 14 years and had more than 70 five star reviews! Unfortunately they decided to close down that website for some reason and here we are today!

Cancellation Policy: Please let me know 24+ hours in advance if you cannot attend a lesson, otherwise the hourly price will be charged.

What exam boards do you support?
I cover all major UK exam boards: AQA, OCR (A & B), Edexcel, WJEC, and CIE. I also support International GCSE and IB Physics (SL & HL).
Do you offer A-Level Physics tutoring?
Absolutely! I specialise in A-Level Physics for all exam boards. I help students build fundamentals and master exam technique.
Do you teach IB Physics?
Yes – I teach IB Physics at both Standard Level and Higher Level, including Internal Assessment guidance and exam preparation for Papers 1-3.
How much do lessons cost?
Standard rate is £70 per hour. Block booking discounts available: 10 hours for £650 (save £50).
Is the first lesson free?
Yes! Your first 30-minute session is completely free – no strings attached. It's a chance to meet, discuss your goals, and experience my teaching style.
